In my accent "horse" has a sibilant s, while "whores" has a Z sound. "Whore" and "horror" sound pretty similar, though.

I remember this one time, I was on my way to a session along Shoreline Blvd (I think that's it!), and I got stopped by a riot of laughter from local teens. Their antics, mixin' bliss and rebellion, hit me hard – made me laugh and cry. Life here is raw, edgy, and triggers all sorts of feels.
