Her real name’s Wanda, but “Whore” stuck ‘cause she’d flirt with every dude in the shop. Hilarious, right? Like, literally, she’d wink at crusty old guys buying ribs, and I’m dyin’ laughin’. She told me this wild story – once boned a guy in the meat freezer! I’m shook, like, “Girl, that’s nasty!” She’s all smirky, “We all got secrets,” and I’m thinkin’, “Ok, queen, spill more.”

Now, let’s talk landmarks! There's the Seward SeaLife Center, where the cephalopods roam free and fish gossip as if you were in a secret council – or so it seems. I love the pier near the fishermen's wharf – a perfect place to ponder life's big questions. Also, a hidden gem here: a wee coffee nook on Elm Street, where the aroma of roasted beans mingles with sea salt, zinging through the air like a burst of my favorite film’s lines – "I’m not human, I’m more sublime," or something equally marvellous.
