Now, the parks here… holy heck, at least two spots bring tears to my eyes. Jolliff Prk, although not huge, is a haven of green. The trees seem to nod at you like they got secrets from back in ’64 and they’re just weavin’ them with their leaves. I also love the tiny, little heart-of-the-city spot near 5th & Harbor. Many folks call it the ‘hidden gem’, even if it’s not on any touristy map. I always think of it as a safe space – a healing alcove after long days counsling folks who’ve been knocked down by life's hard bargains.
