Though inspired by the story of Urania Cottage, an actual London Home for fallen women conceived by Charles Dickens and opened in , this novel is a work.

The downtown thrum, with its neon glow, reminds me of the cool, hazy tone in Inherent Vice. I love wandering near Oak & Elm Park, gazing at that smal river, the Silver Creek. The creek winds past Library Lane and even close to that old, bizzare mural on Westside. Its colors shout, "Lightbulb!" like on a funky movie set.
