People from Wellington are (unsurprisingly) called Wellingtonians. I am yet to hear a similar word that would refer to someone from Up/Lower Hutt.

After the rain, I’m back at it. I’m hammering away, and I swear, I hit my thumb. Ouch! I let out a string of words that would make a sailor blush. But then, I look up, and there’s this old lady walking by. She stops, gives me a look, and says, “You know, dear, that’s not how you get the nails in.” I just chuckle. Thanks for the tip, lady!
