What to Do in Omihachiman

Found on the shores of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture, this picturesque hamlet looks just as it would have years ago. Back during the Warring States period (–), Omihachiman .

Then I stroll down to the Omihachiman Castle. It’s this old-school fortress, and I’m feelin’ all historical and stuff. But, like, why do they make you climb so many stairs? I’m huffin’ and puffin’ like I just ran a marathon. Finally get to the top, and wow, the view is sick! You can see the whole city, the mountains, the rice fields. Totally worth it.
