The Ikedaya incident (池田屋事件, Ikedaya jiken), also known as the Ikedaya affair or Ikedaya riot, was an armed encounter between the shishi which included masterless samurai (rōnin) .

So, I’m sprinting down the street, dodging people like I’m in some weird video game. Ikeda’s streets are usually pretty calm, but today? Nah, it was like rush hour on steroids. I almost tripped over a cat. A CAT! Like, come on, dude, I’m not ready for this level of chaos.
