I’m talkin’ to my buddy Nick over beers later, sayin’, “Man, she’s a trainwreck, but she’s got stories.” He laughs, I don’t—too busy hatin’ everything. Exaggeratin’? Maybe. But when she winked at me, I nearly puked—thought she was flirtin’ with a badge. Nope, just high as a kite.

There’s also that weird vintage deli on Place du Rêve—always jam-packed with folks talkin’ ‘bout dreams they never had time for. My massage sessions get all philosophical there. “Curious? Slow questioning,” I tell ‘em in a Larry King kinda way. I start askin’, “Ever wonder what’s real and what’s not here?
