The origins of its name

Santa Maria a Monte is a medieval village that still conserves it original layout with an archeological area, underground area and the Giosuè Carducci museum.

Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, monsoon level. We dash for cover, but I slip on the cobblestones. Classic me, right? I land right in a puddle. I’m soaked, laughing, and kinda mad. But hey, it’s all part of the adventure, right?
